Contractor Experience and Qualifications
Bernie Lange – President
Bernie has over 33 years of experience in the building, design, and construction industry. He has been employed with The Renschler Company for over 26 years. He is committed to serving the needs of our clients. Bernie was promoted to President in January 2005. As President & CEO of The Renschler Company, Bernie's responsibilities include general management, business development, client retention, and strategic planning.
Bernie especially enjoys his family time. Bernie, Kaitlin, Stephen and Nicole are all currently in college. Bernie and his wife Amy enjoy golfing, fishing, attending Concerts on the Squre and socializing with their friends. He donates time to the Hospice Golf Committee and the Middleton Outreach Ministry.
Dave Hamby – Business Development/Project Manager
As Project Manager, Dave has responsibilities during both the design and construction phases of a project. These responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation, and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the architect, Owner, field personnel, and subcontractors from project start to construction completion. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the metal and hardwall building arena. His past responsibilities have included the design and planning of industrial building projects, as well as construction management. In addition, he has experience making presentations to community organizations such as plan commissions and urban design committees.
Dave has a passion for purchasing and enhancing different income properties and also enjoys staying active with downhill skiing, camping, biking, hiking and working out.
Gary Olson – Project Manager
As Project Manager, Gary's responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the Owner and subcontractors from project start to construction completion. Gary has over 34 years of construction-related experience. He got his start in the industry as a carpenter, advancing to an Estimator/Project Manager managing federal, state, and municipal government projects. Gary joined The Renschler Company as a Project Manager in 1989.
Gary enjoys the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also gets in an occasional slap-shot playing ice hockey at the rink on Monday nights with friends.
Jesse Armstrong – Senior Project Manager
Jesse has over 20 years of experience in the art of listening to his clients/friends and assisting them in realizing their visions as they relate to commercial space and construction needs. His project management and coordination skills are complimented by multiple facets relating to commercial properties. Experience in development, appraising commercial properties and property management provides a unique perspective that serves his clients well.
He believes in the difference that he makes by understanding his client' expectations and then his passion to exceed them.
Jesse enjoys music of all genres and plays drums in local bands. He has a wonderful wife, Shawn and two beautiful daughters, Re'gan and Riley. He despises home construction projects.
Scott Giese – General Superintendent
Scott has over 30 years of construction experience. Over 20 of those years have been with The Renschler Company; first as a Project Manager and later as General Superintendent. As General Superintendent, Scott coordinates projects with Superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors. He participates in the development, monitoring, and updating of construction schedules. In addition, Scott lends technical assistance to the field crew, checks shop drawings, and reviews payment estimates.
Scott likes to relax by taking frequent trips to Door County with his family and friends.
Lisa Showers – Executive Assistant
As Executive Assistant, Lisa provides administrative assistance to the executive staff, project management staff and accounting staff as needed. She assists in the preparation of marketing materials for prospective clients and also sees that the day to day operations of the office run like a well-oiled machine. Lisa has over 24 years of office experience, 19 of those years in the construction, architectural and engineering industry. She has advanced knowledge of construction specific software applications such as Sage MasterBuilder, Integration Construction Project Manager (icPM) by HeadsUp Technologies, and Expedition.
Lisa's father was an ironworker, and her husband owns a building restoration business, so construction runs in her veins! In her free time, Lisa plays bass guitar in a local band and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Martin Ballweg – Business Development
Martin's experience in the construction industry encompasses more than 50 years and numerous projects throughout the Midwest. He has established himself as a fair professional and competitive contractor. He started his career as a carpenter and worked his way up to become a stockholder in the Kenneth F. Sullivan Co. in 1968. After 33 years he decided to form his own company so in 2001 he founded Ideal Builders, Inc. This turned out to be a very successful company in a short time. After taking 6 months off for medical reasons, he felt the time was not quite right for retirement, and The Renschler Company welcomed his knowledge and business savvy and were very excited to get Marty as part of their team, working in Business Development.
Martin's success is due to the fact “to be successful you must have employees that believe in a total team effort.”
Martin's hobbies include watching College basketball and trying to beat his wife Kathy in golf.
