Gordon Renschler – Chairman of the Board

In 1976, Gordon founded The Renschler Company, Inc. The original focus of the company was the same as it is today, "Serving clients with quality architectural design, engineering, and construction services." After acquiring experience in the consulting engineering and steel sales industries in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin, Gordon moved to Madison, Wisconsin, in 1965 to lead field operations for an established design/build general contractor. He later served as a Principal of another well-known Madison general contracting firm. Gordon's current responsibilities include general management, client development and retention, and strategic planning. Gordon has over 45 years of experience in the construction industry, including 40 years designing and constructing commercial buildings in the Madison area.

Gordon and his wife Janet enjoy golfing, socializing with their many friends and taking in the culture Madison offers. He also enjoys spending time in Palm Desert, CA with his wife.

Bernie Lange - President

Bernie has over 27 years of experience in the building, design, and construction industry. He has been employed with The Renschler Company for over 20 years. He is committed to serving the needs of our clients. Bernie was promoted to President in January 2005. As President & CEO of The Renschler Company, Bernie's responsibilities include general management, business development, client retention, and strategic planning.

Bernie especially enjoys his family time. Bernie, Kaitlin, Stephen and Nicole are all currently in college. Bernie and his wife Amy enjoy golfing, fishing, attending Concerts on the Squre and socializing with their friends. He donates time to the Hospice Golf Committee and the Middleton Outreach Ministry.

Mike Schoonveld – Vice President/Project Manager

As Project Manager, Mike has responsibilities during both the design and construction phases of a project. These responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the Owner and subcontractors from project start to construction completion.

Mike has over 21 years of construction experience with project types ranging from offices, banks, and churches to manufacturing facilities, hospitality, and bio-tech facilities. Projects that Mike has managed have ranged in size from $750,000 to $15 million. Mike has experience with many structure types including conventional steel framed construction, pre-cast, pre-engineered metal buildings, and wood-frame construction.

Mike's hobbies include coaching youth baseball and he competes in the Southern WI Senior Baseball League. Mike is an avid cross country skier and races the American Birkebeiner Ski Race every winter. He also volunteers at his church, St. Luke's Lutheran in Middleton and organizes a charity golf tournament each summer to support Camp HOPE, a grieving camp for children near Stevens Point, WI.

Eric Truelove – Director of Sustainable Design Services

Eric is responsible for directing sustainable design services at The Renschler Company. He provides building commissioning services, engineering assessments, lifecycle cost analyses, energy modeling, technical training, daylighting consulting, United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification services, Green Building Initiative (GBI) Green GlobesTM certification services, and United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Energy Star® certification services. He has participated on over 30 projects that are LEED certified or in the certification process.

Eric has been a mechanical engineer in the energy and construction industries since 1980. His work on energy conservation, building commissioning, and life-cycle costing has been published by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and Portland Energy Conservation (PECI). In addition, Eric is a Daylighting Consultant to the Energy Center of Wisconsin where he has assisted the state of Wisconsin in developing their daylighting standards for new state-owned buildings. He also developed materials and recommendations for the High Performance Building Program sponsored by the United States Department of Energy and is providing ongoing training and seminars for architects, engineers, and Owners.

In addition to making this world a "greener" place to live, Eric's interests include astronomy and archeology.

Dave Hamby – Business Development/Project Manager

As Project Manager, Dave has responsibilities during both the design and construction phases of a project. These responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation, and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the architect, Owner, field personnel, and subcontractors from project start to construction completion. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the metal and hardwall building arena. His past responsibilities have included the design and planning of industrial building projects, as well as construction management. In addition, he has experience making presentations to community organizations such as plan commissions and urban design committees.

Dave has a passion for purchasing and enhancing different income properties and also enjoys staying active with downhill skiing, camping, biking, hiking and working out.

Gary Olson – Project Manager

As Project Manager, Gary's responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the Owner and subcontractors from project start to construction completion. Gary has over 34 years of construction-related experience. He got his start in the industry as a carpenter, advancing to an Estimator/Project Manager managing federal, state, and municipal government projects. Gary joined The Renschler Company as a Project Manager in 1989.

Gary enjoys the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also gets in an occasional slap-shot playing ice hockey at the rink on Monday nights with friends.

Ted McMillan – Project Manager

As Project Manager, Ted has responsibilities during both the design and construction phases of a project. These responsibilities include direct preparation of project cost estimates; schedule development; review and/or preparation of plans and specifications; value engineering studies; bid package development, solicitation and evaluation; and contract award. He is also the liaison with the Owner and subcontractors from project start to construction completion.

Ted has over 15 years of construction experience with project types ranging from manufacturing facilities, clinics, and schools to offices, banks, and churches. Projects that Ted has managed have ranged in size from $200,000 to $5 million. Ted has experience with many structure types including conventional construction, pre-cast, pre-engineered metal buildings, and wood-frame construction.

Ted keeps busy in his spare time helping his wife Kassy organize the activities of their 3 children, coaching youth soccer and is very active at Blackhawk Church in Verona. Ted is an avid cyclist, most recently participating in the Horribly Hilly Hundreds, and also enjoys running.

Scott Giese – General Superintendent

Scott has over 30 years of construction experience. Over 20 of those years have been with The Renschler Company; first as a Project Manager and later as General Superintendent. As General Superintendent, Scott coordinates projects with Superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors. He participates in the development, monitoring, and updating of construction schedules. In addition, Scott lends technical assistance to the field crew, checks shop drawings, and reviews payment estimates.

Scott likes to relax by taking frequent trips to Door County with his family and friends.

Lisa Showers – Executive Assistant

As Executive Assistant, Lisa provides administrative assistance to the executive staff, project management staff and accounting staff as needed. She assists in the preparation of marketing materials for prospective clients and also sees that the day to day operations of the office run like a well-oiled machine. Lisa has over 24 years of office experience, 19 of those years in the construction, architectural and engineering industry. She has advanced knowledge of construction specific software applications such as Sage MasterBuilder, Integration Construction Project Manager (icPM) by HeadsUp Technologies, and Expedition.

Lisa's father was an ironworker, and her husband owns a building restoration business, so construction runs in her veins! In her free time, Lisa plays bass guitar in a local band and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
