LEED Fees Deferred

We are pleased to provide the following deferred-payment plan for completing United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) consulting services for buildings constructed by The Renschler Company.

Our firm provides building commissioning, energy modeling, and the filing of all LEED paperwork at a cost of $45,000. Of those fees, the following amounts may be reimbursed through the Wisconsin Focus on Energy program:

  • LEED filing costs payable when building is filed with USGBC = $7,500
  • Energy modeling costs payable when energy model is complete = $3,000
  • Upgrades to HVAC and lighting equipment = about $1 per square foot

Please note the reimbursement levels change without notice depending on Focus on Energy allotments. We are providing example amounts based on past projects, but can not insure any amount for a given building without confirmation.

We are prepared to charge for only the amounts directly reimbursed by Focus on Energy up through final LEED certification which typically takes place 12- to 18-months after the building is occupied. Once certification has been made, the remaining balance would come due. Here is an example of how the plan could work:

Fees charged by USGBC for final application review (this cost can vary) = $2,500

Total cost for energy modeling, building commissioning and USGBC Paperwork = $45,000

Focus on Energy contribution toward LEED and energy modeling = $10,500 (deduct)

Focus on Energy grant for energy-saving upgrades (example) =$15,000 (deduct)

Net amount due when building is certified = $22,000

This offer is limited to a select number of buildings constructed by The Renschler Company.
