Project Overview
This 32,000 square-foot, combination office/light manufacturing renovation was completed in July 2005. The Renschler Company forecast energy savings of 30%. After one year of operation, actual utility bills reflect a savings of 50%. The Energy Star® rating system tracks the energy costs of commercial buildings throughout the United States. Using the Energy Star® Target Finder tool, actual energy bills indicate this facility scores in the upper 89th percentile of similar buildings for low energy consumption. Additional cost for all energy savings upgrades was less than 1.5% of the total construction cost. The RenewAire Renovation is the first building in the Midwest to receive a Green Globes award for energy-efficiency and good environmental stewardship and also received a LEED Silver Award.
